Whether traffic is billed "one-way" or "both ways" is one of the most common questions before buying. The short answer: it depends on the specific plan — some count outbound only, while others count both directions.
Inbound vs. outbound first
- Inbound (下行): data flowing into your server from the internet — e.g. visitors' requests to your site, or you running
wget/aptto download something. - Outbound (上行): data leaving your server for the internet — e.g. web pages sent back to visitors, or files you upload elsewhere.
For most sites and apps, outbound is usually far larger than inbound, so whether both directions are metered directly affects how fast you burn through your quota.
Metering rules vary by plan
WawaNode plans are not all metered the same way:
- Some plans count outbound only (one-way), with inbound free;
- Some plans count both inbound and outbound (both ways).
The exact rule is stated on each plan's product/plan page — the order page tells you whether that plan is one-way or both-ways and how much traffic is included. Always trust the plan page; don't guess.
Check live usage in the dashboard
To see what you've used:
- Sign in to the dashboard (wawanode.com → 控制台);
- Open the relevant service detail page;
- Go to 流量与监控 (Traffic & Monitoring) to view this cycle's traffic usage plus CPU and RAM stats.
