About WawaNode

What is WawaNode?

WawaNode is the operating brand of WawaCloud Inc., a Canadian federal corporation incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act. It sells Hong Kong and US cloud VPS, US dedicated servers and OVHcloud VPS (as a reseller) to Chinese-speaking customers. Prices are in CNY; Chinese is the primary support language and English is fully supported.

Buying and paying

Which payment methods are accepted?

Alipay, WeChat Pay, bank cards (via Stripe), USDT (TRC20) and account balance. Products and invoices are priced in CNY; some channels charge a fee or settle in another currency, and the payment page shows the exact amount before you confirm.

Do I need to verify my identity to buy?

None of the products currently on sale require identity verification. If a product ever does, its product page and checkout will say so up front.

Do I need an ICP filing to host a website?

No. All WawaNode servers are outside mainland China (Hong Kong and the US), so an MIIT ICP filing is neither needed nor possible — you can host a site as soon as the server is up. Use must still follow local law and our Acceptable Use Policy.

Networks and routes

Which network should I pick?

If your visitors are mostly in mainland China and latency matters, start with Hong Kong (CN2 / AS10099 / CMI) or the Los Angeles China-optimized line (CN2 + 9929 + CMIN2). If they are overseas and you need bandwidth and traffic, pick Phoenix BGP, Los Angeles Ryzen 9950X or Salt Lake City EPYC 4545P. For whole-machine performance, pick a dedicated server.

What is the difference between CN2, 9929 and CMIN2?

They are each carrier's premium network: CN2 (AS4809) is China Telecom's, 9929 (AS9929) is China Unicom's and CMIN2 (AS58807) is China Mobile International's. Each improves access for that carrier's users; WawaNode's Los Angeles China-optimized line connects to all three.

Is there a test IP, and how do I test a route?

Some lines publish a test IP on the product page, for example Los Angeles China-optimized VPS: 64.83.26.1. Use ping for latency, tcping for port reachability and mtr for the route and packet loss.

Is IPv6 included?

Some lines include IPv6: Los Angeles Ryzen 9950X (Routed /56 IPv6), Salt Lake City EPYC 4545P (Routed /56 IPv6), Phoenix international BGP VPS (Routed /56 IPv6) and OVHcloud (reseller) (1 IPv6 address). For other lines, check the product page.

How is traffic counted, and what if I run out?

The allowance depends on the plan and resets automatically each billing cycle (usually monthly, on the service's renewal day). Some plans meter outbound only, others both directions — the product page says which. You get email alerts at 70%, 80%, 90% and 95% of the allowance, and can buy a traffic package from the service page when it runs out.

Provisioning and day-to-day use

How soon can I use the server after paying?

A VPS is provisioned automatically as soon as payment clears — no manual review — and its IP and login details usually arrive within minutes. Dedicated servers are racked and installed by an engineer; the product page shows the delivery time: under an hour for machines in stock, typically 1–3 days on backorder, with a few models stating their own lead time.

Which operating systems are available?

VPS plans offer Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, Windows, Rocky Linux, Fedora and AlmaLinux, with versions varying by plan (the order page lists them), and you can reinstall from the dashboard at any time. Dedicated servers come with Ubuntu and Debian; ask through a ticket for anything else.

What can I do in the dashboard?

Power on, shut down, reboot, reinstall the OS, reset the root password, open a browser VNC or SSH terminal, watch traffic and CPU graphs and toggle auto-renew. Some plans also support snapshots, extra IPv4 addresses and in-place upgrades.

Can I upgrade my plan?

Yes. Pick a larger plan on the service page and pay the difference — no new order and no data migration; some plans need a short reboot. Downgrades are not available on every plan; open a ticket to check.

Support and policies

Can I get a refund?

Refund eligibility, time limits and covered products are set out in the refund policy; OVHcloud reseller products are not refundable. To request one, open a ticket in the dashboard and link the service.

How do renewals work, and what happens at expiry?

You get renewal reminders by email before expiry, or you can top up your balance and turn on auto-renew on the service page. An unpaid service is first suspended and kept for a retention period before it is deleted for good (the service page shows the dates). To stop, just turn auto-renew off.
